EOR IELTS, aka Enquiry on Results, is a feature many students use and waste their hard-earned money on. Sometimes, the results are not favourable, so EOR allows you to re-examine your mark sheets. When you go for revaluation, your marker sheets are sent to the IDP’s head Office in Melbourne, where the experts are hired to work in such cases.
Many peers and teachers misguide students about the IELTS, which is untrue. Many students hear myths that IELTS repeats the same result and that when you go for EOR, they give you the deserving result.
Sometimes, the scores improve, and the EOR fee is refunded. However, those are rare occurrences since the marking criteria are rather strict. Before publishing the results online, IELTS test sheets are passed under various eyes, primarily by experts. Thus, the chances of mistakes are minimal but never zero.

The above table shows the EOR IELTS Vs the Main Exam Fee. Many students under the wrong impression of their English language skills go for the revaluation and hope to see the band score improved. However, this is not the case.
Many students opt for the EOR instead of filling out the new exam. One should take time to reflect, as candidates have 6 weeks from the exam date to decide.
WHEN DO YOU GO FOR THE EOR IELTS OPTION?
It is critical to know when to do it. In most cases, a student only sees an increase of 0.5 band in any module. According to the official IELTS website, all fees are refunded in case of a score increase in any module. You can go for all 4 modules in EOR, and the cost is charged once. For example, If you have given ₹12,750 for IELTS Pen and Paper for your EOR, you can tick all the Modules for evaluation, and if any module has even an increase of 0.5 band, all the fee is refunded.
However, if the revaluation does not increase, no fee is refunded, leading the student to look for other countries’ options or to write the IELTS exam again.
STEPS TO DO ENQUIRY ON RESULTS
Go to the Candidate Login page of IELTS IDP India and log in to your Candidate Section.
When you click on Apply, a new window will pop up, giving an estimated time frame for the result declared and its current fees. Read the details carefully, and then click Accept.
If you have given multiple exams within a certain time frame and the EOR is valid for such an exam, you can choose anyone you want to take. Select the one you want to take and then proceed with it.
A new window will open, where you must select the number of modules you want for the EOR. Check all if you want to go for all. Still, the scores haven’t increased in Listening and Reading, so suppose you are less band in Listening or Reading than you hoped. However, in other modules, you got the desired marks, but you still ticked Writing and Speaking along with Listening/Reading or Listening and Reading.
The reason is that there are better chances of improving band scores in Writing and Speaking; in such cases, the fee is refunded.
Remember, go for EOR if you have good English. We have even seen an increase of 1.5 bands in writing for one of our students. We encouraged him to go for it since we significantly improved his writing. He initially got band 5 in writing, but in EOR, the new score was Band 6.5.
