EOR IELTS aka Enquiry on Results is a feature that many students use and end up wasting their hard-earned money. Sometimes, the results are not favourable so EOR gives you a way to get your mark sheets re-examined and when you go for revaluation, your marker sheets are sent to the IDP’s head Office in Melbourne, where the experts are hired to work in such cases.
Many students are misguided by their peers, and teachers, or have heard myths that IELTS repeat the same result and when you go for EOR, they give you the deserving result.
Yes, sometimes, it happens that the scores are improved and the EOR fees are refunded. However, those are rare occurrences since the marking criteria are rather strict and before publishing the result online, IELTS test sheets pass under various eyes, mostly experts. Thus, the chances for the mistakes are minimal, but never zero.

The above table shows the EOR IELTS Vs the Main Exam Fee. Many students under the wrong impression of their English language skills go for the revaluation and hope to see the band score improved. However, this is not the case.
Instead of filling out the new exam, many students go for the EOR option. One should take time to reflect as a candidate has 6 weeks from the date of the exam to think and make a decision.
WHEN GO FOR THE EOR IELTS OPTION?
This is critical to know when to do it. In most cases, a student only sees an increase of 0.5 band in any one module. According to the Official IELTS Website, all the fee is refunded in case of a score increase in any module. you can go for all 4 modules in EOR and the fee is charged one time. For example, If you have given ₹12,750 for IELTS Pen and Paper for your EOR, you can tick all the Modules for evaluation and if any module has even an increase of 0.5 band, all the fee is refunded.
However, if there’s no increase in the revaluation, no fee is refunded, leading the student to look for other countries’ options or to write the IELTS exam again.
STEPS TO DO ENQUIRY ON RESULTS
Go to the Candidate Login of IELTS IDP India and Log in to your Candidate Section.
When you click on Apply, a new window will pop up giving an estimated time frame of the result declared and the current fees for it. Read the details carefully and then Click Accept…
If you have given multiple exams within a certain time frame and such exam EOR is valid, you can choose anyone, you want to go with. Select the one you want to go with and then proceed with it.
A new window will open, where you have to select the number of modules you want to go for the EOR. Check all if you want to go for all, but in Listening and Reading, the scores aren’t increased, so suppose you less band in Listening or Reading than you were hoping but in other modules you got the desired marks, still tick Writing and Speaking along with Listening/Reading or Listening and Reading.
The reason is chances are better of band score improvement in Writing and Speaking and in such cases, the fee is refunded.
Remember, go for EOR if you have good English. We have even seen an increase of 1.5 bands in writing for one of our students. We encouraged him to go for it since we improved his writing a lot. He initially got band 5 in writing, but in EOR, the new score was Band 6.5.
EOR is not always successful, the decision is yours.
