Answer –
The pie graphs display the percentage of consumption of sodium, saturated fat, and added sugar on average by meal in America, and these nutrients could be dangerous if eaten in excess.
Overall, the highest percentages of sodium and saturated fat are consumed at dinner, whereas most added sugar is consumed while snacking in the US. Moreover, a lower amount of these nutrients is generally consumed at breakfast than in the other three meals.
Looking at the first meal of the day, Americans consume higher proportions of saturated fat and added sugar, at 16% each, than sodium, 2% less than these. However, during lunch, people in the USA eat the most sodium, at 29%, and the figures for saturated fat and added sugar are around a quarter and roughly a fifth, respectively.
Focusing on snacks, this meal consists of 42% added sugar, which is precisely double that of saturated fat and triple that of sodium. As for supper, Americans, on average, prefer to consume sodium and saturated fat the most, at 43% and just more than a third, respectively, while added sugar’s value is just less than a quarter.
