WRITING TASK 1

You should spend 20 minutes on this task.

You recently did a short cookery course. The cookery school has asked for your feedback on this course.

Write a letter to the course director at the cookery school. In your letter:

  • describe what you enjoyed about the course
  • say how much cooking you’ve done since the course
  • suggest another cookery course you’d like the school to offer

Write at least 150 words.

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Answer –

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to give you my thoughts on a crash course on baking different types of cakes that I attended last month at your cookery school.

The main thing I was really pleased with was the helpful nature of the teachers. They were never annoyed no matter how many times I asked them the same thing, and they always tried their best to make me understand and never belittled me. Moreover, the classes were fun to attend as the teachers taught us with the help of different games, and this made things easier to learn.

After completing the course, I have not done tons of cooking because I fell ill and was hospitalised for 2 weeks. However, I have now fully recovered, and after getting a clean chit from the doctor, I baked my favourite chocolate cake to pamper myself. Moreover, 2 days ago, I baked a strawberry and blueberry cake for my family and friends, and everybody thoroughly loved it.

My humble advice would be that you should start a course that focuses on Mexican cuisine. As tortillas, tacos and burritos are becoming increasingly famous in India, too, I think it would be beneficial for you as well as those people who want to learn it and open their Mexican restaurants or include it in their existing menus.

Kind regards,
Jeff Bezos
