You have seen an advertisement in an Australian magazine for someone to live with a family for six months and look after their six-year-old child.
Write a letter to the parents. In your letter
- explain why you would like the job
- give details of why you would be a suitable person to employ
- say how you would spend your free time while you are in Australia
Write at least 150 words.
You do NOT need to write any addresses.

I am writing in response to the advert that you placed in one of the Australian magazines “The Lookout”, and I would like to apply for the nanny job.
The main reason I would love to do this job is that it would give me the all-important international experience that could help me go further in my career/open doors to a bright future for me. I can also earn some money to cover my expenses while I am in Australia.
I believe I would be the best candidate for this job because I have a 1-year diploma in Nanny Care and Nutrition. Therefore, I am well equipped to take care of your child and can teach your offspring crucial social skills and hygiene. I can also cook nutritious food for your whole family and do housekeeping and laundry, too.
In my free time, I would like to explore the beaches of Australia, as I have heard a lot about how beautiful the beaches are and how relaxing sunbathing is. Since my home town is surrounded by land, I have never had a chance to see a beach. Furthermore, I would like to see Australian wildlife because I am a nature lover; therefore, I would like to explore different kinds of flora and fauna that are native to Australia.
