You should spend 20 minutes on this task.
Your neighbours have recently written to you to complain about the noise from your houseflat.
Write a letter to your neighbours. In your letter:
- explain the reasons for the noise
- apologise
- describe what action you will take
Write at least 150 words.
You do NOT need to write your own addresses.
Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Butler,
I am writing regarding your complaint about the noise from my home that has caused you inconvenience.
The main reason for the noise is the renovation of one of my old rooms. The space in that room was mismanaged, so I hired a construction company to demolish shelves that were occupying unnecessary space. Also, some places in my house needed patchwork, and I thought about doing it now, too.
First of all, please accept my sincere apologies for causing you any trouble. I did not have any idea that the noise was reaching your place and making you uncomfortable; otherwise, I would have done something about it earlier and would not have let you suffer at all.
To tackle this problem, I have instructed the labourers to keep the noise level to a minimum and try to finish the work as early as possible. In addition, I have told them to work only during the daytime and not in the evenings; therefore, when you return from your work, your peace is not disturbed.
