The pie chart and the bar chart depict the places and the three kinds of dance that children up to 16 years old are learning at present in an Australian town.

Overall, it can be seen that the percentage of minors taking dance lessons at private studios is the highest. Moreover, the most popular option for children who are under 11 is ballet lessons, while the number of those between 11 and 16 choosing to learn modern dance is the greatest.

Looking at the location of dance classes, nearly half of the total learners are going to private studios to learn how to dance, and school halls are the second most popular venue, with roughly a quarter of juveniles going there.  Community halls and other places are the preference of 18% of young learners, which is 8% more than the figure for those going to studios that are built in colleges.

Regarding the types of dance classes, the most preferred option for children aged 11 or less is attending ballet lessons, with 600 children doing so, but the fewest of them are taking modern dance tutorials, at around half of the ballet’s figure. The vice versa is true for those aged 11 to 16, where the former accounts for 300, while the latter constitutes around 510 children. However, the participation levels in tap dance are roughly at the same level in both categories, with around 450.
