The two maps display how the infrastructure of Porth Harbour has been redeveloped in the present compared to 2000.

Overall, it can be seen that the harbour has witnessed a significant transformation from having only public beaches to having a private beach over the period given. Another notable change is the addition of more customer-facing facilities.

Looking at the eastern part of the map, in the southeast, there was a castle, which was forsaken, but it has given way to a hotel, which is now connected to the service road, which links the main road to a place where lifeboats are kept. The public beach just south of the castle has been converted into a private beach, which is specifically reserved for the hotel’s guests and staff. Moreover, in the north-east, although the public beach and the dock remain the same, one more dock has been added to the west of the original dock.

Focusing on the south-west, in 2000, the car park in that direction was connected to the service road, but now it has been re-routed and connected to the main road and just north of this, showers and toilets have been installed, while the car park and showers and toilets in the north-west are left untouched. Furthermore, the marina, a place where private yachts are tied up, was built in the north-west and a bigger place for parking fishing boats was given in the south-west, but at present, these two have been switched, meaning more space for private yachts, and just east of it, some cafes and shops have been set up for the customers, which indicates towards increasing popularity of the Porth Harbour.
