Answer –
The two plans display how Norbiton’s industrial area will probably be redeveloped in the future compared to the present.
Overall, the industrial area will witness a significant transformation from having mostly factories to having mainly residential areas over the period given. Another noticeable change is predicted to be the addition of a medical centre.
In the centre of the industrial area of Norbiton, there is a roundabout, from which one road extends towards the east, with two factories on either side and one at its end. However, the factories just north of the road are to be replaced by two housing blocks with a playground between them, while the factories on the opposite side will give place to one big housing area, and the factory at the end of the road will make way for a school. Another roundabout is planned to be constructed in the south, which will link with the present roundabout, and a new medical centre will be constructed in the southeast.
Looking at the northern developments, from the central roundabout, there are plans to lay two new roads. One will be in the northwest, accommodating two housing areas near its end, and some shops are to be opened in the southwest. The other road is expected to be laid towards the north along with some houses, and it will connect the farmland, which is on the other side of the river, with the help of a bridge, to the new residential area. The farmland, however, will be made smaller and give way to a new housing area to its west.
