Answer –

The two maps illustrate how Southwest Airport will be changed after reconstruction next year compared to the present.

Overall, the Southwest Airport will witness a significant transformation from having a few facilities in only the departures area to having many customer-facing facilities for both departing and arriving passengers over the period. Other notable planned changes are the addition of sky trains and the expansion of the building.

Focusing on the airport’s arrivals area on the right when someone faces the building, the number of gates will be doubled to two, and at present, it is devoid of any facility except for passport control and customs. However, in the coming year, there are plans to extend the building to the right to accommodate an area for hiring cabs and continuing past this area, a new ATM, and next to it, a new café would be set up where there is an empty area now.

As for departures, this airport area will also have 2 gates instead of one. Now, just before the security systems and passport control section, the cafe to the right will possibly be shifted to a site near the entrance, and the check-in area to the left will take its place, while the check-in section will give way to a new bag-drop area. After clearing the security check, the space will house some shops to facilitate passengers. In front of the shops is the walkway for passengers, which connects to 8 gates for boarding a flight, but next year, there are plans to replace the walkway with a sky train, and a total of 18 gates will be available.
