Answer –
The pie graphs display the percentage consumption of sodium, saturated fat and added sugar on average by meal in America, and these nutrients could be dangerous if eaten in excess.
Overall, it can be seen that at dinner, the percentages of sodium and saturated fat consumed are the highest, whereas most added sugar is consumed while snacking in the US. Moreover, during breakfast, generally, a lower amount of these nutrients is consumed than in the other three meals.
Looking at the first meal of the day, Americans consume higher proportions of saturated fat and added sugar in it, at 16% each, than sodium, 2% less than these. However, during lunch, people in the USA eat sodium the most, at 29%, and the figures for saturated fat and added sugar are around a quarter and roughly a fifth, respectively.
Focusing on snacks, this meal consists of 42% of added sugar and this figure is precisely double that of saturated fat, and triple that of sodium. As for supper, Americans, on average, prefer to consume sodium and saturated fat the most, at 43% and just more than a third, respectively, while added sugar’s value is just less than a quarter.
