Answer of Cambridge Book 19 Test 3 Academic Writing Task 2  

It is argued that saving money for the future is crucial for all individuals, even youngsters. I completely agree with this statement because it can provide financial security and help young people achieve their goals.

The main reason I am firmly in favour of developing saving habits is that people can use the money they have saved when they are in financial turmoil. This is because if people make it a habit of saving money, especially at a young age, this will teach them a valuable lesson about prioritising their needs over wants. Therefore, this constraint would help them make responsible financial decisions and avoid falling into a debt trap due to bad spending habits. During the pandemic in 2020, all businesses, for example, were shut down by the governments, and individuals would have struggled to survive if they did not have their savings to fall back on.

Another reason to consider is that it may aid young people in fulfilling their dreams. To explain, saving from an early age allows people to invest that money in government bonds or the share market, which would grow over time in the form of capital gains and compound interest, and early investments allow them to maximise their potential returns. This money can then be used to pursue future goals and help people to turn their dreams into reality. For instance, pursuing a degree, starting a business and buying a car or a house are common goals.

In conclusion, this essay totally agrees that saving money is a crucial skill that all people should possess, regardless of age, because it can make people financially secure for the unpredictable future and due to this, people can complete their wishes.
