Answer of Cambridge Book 13 Test 4 Academic Writing Task 2ย ย
Despite the increments in crop yield due to advancements in agriculture, a lot of people still suffer from hunger globally. The primary cause of this phenomenon is poverty, and a potential solution is providing guaranteed minimum financial help to the affected individuals.
The main reason for global hunger is that many people do not make enough money to feed themselves. In some countries, most workers are not paid sufficiently to meet their basic needs and this leads to a constant struggle to pay for meals, and unemployed individuals face even greater challenges in affording food. Due to this, they frequently have to sleep without eating anything, even if much food is readily available in the markets. To illustrate this, most people living on the street in India do not have sufficient incomes and can be seen frequently begging for food or money.
One of the viable solutions to this issue is for governments to implement a welfare program that provides a minimum income to individuals who do not earn enough to feed themselves. This is because if low-income individuals receive a certain amount of money each month, they do not have to worry about meeting their basic needs. This would result in more of these people being able to afford the cost of food and complete their essential nutritional requirements. The USA, for instance, has a federal program called โfood stampsโ that offers food-purchasing assistance to low and no-income people.
In conclusion, even with all the agricultural advances, poverty remains the primary reason why people suffer from hunger all around the world, and to address this issue, governments should guarantee appropriate monetary help for low-income people.
