Answer to IELTS Cambridge Book 15 Test 3 General Writing Task 2

The number of people deciding to vacation within their countries rather than travel overseas is anticipated to increase in the coming years. I completely disagree with this prediction because people will prefer to have a new experience in different cultures, and they are becoming affluent.

One of the reasons why I agree more individuals will travel abroad is that they may want to experience various cultures first-hand. Due to the readily accessible internet, people are getting increasingly informed about the unique lifestyles, traditions, and customs of different regions, and with time, more people will be curious to know and experience these differences. Since people cannot replicate these experiences within their own country, it will encourage them to travel abroad on their holidays. The most followed Indian travel vloggers on Instagram, for example, are those who post videos showing exotic locations and food, and the surge in these vloggers indicates the increasing curiosity and likelihood of people to travel abroad in the near future.

Another reason why people will opt for international vacations in the future is that more people will become richer. As economies in less developed countries are improving by the day, more people are joining the middle class, meaning their financial situation is getting better. As a result, these individuals are going abroad for their vacations, and the numbers are only expected to climb even more in the upcoming years due to rapidly developing economies. For instance, more Indians can now afford to travel abroad because of the higher incomes compared to the past, meaning the buying power of Indians has increased, and the numbers are forecast to increase.

In conclusion, this essay strongly disagrees that domestic travel will become more popular than international travel for spending holidays because people will be motivated to experience different cultures and traditions, and the improved financial condition of many people will probably make such travel more accessible.
