Answer –
The illustration displays the process by which geothermal energy is utilised to generate electricity.
Overall, it can be seen that it is a 5-stage, man-made, linear process. It begins with the accumulation and pumping down of cold water and culminates with the generation of electricity, which is sent to a tower.
In the first stage of the process, cold water is stored in a container at ground level before pumping it down 4.5 km beneath the surface of the earth into an injection well. The water then passes through the geothermal zone, which is made up of hot rocks, and due to this, the cold water gets heated. After heating, the hot water gets collected in a production well, from where it is pumped back up to the surface level in a condenser.
As for the remaining steps, once the hot water enters into the condenser, it turns into steam, after which this steam flows toward the set up of a turbine connected to a generator through a narrow pipe. The steam then rotates the turbine, and due to the movement of the turbine, the generator gets operated and produces electricity, which is subsequently transmitted to electrical towers via power cables.
